In der heutigen Zeit, wo die Vielfalt im Jazz einen Dschungel an Stilrichtungen aufweist, beeindruckt mich mein Saxophonkollege und Buddy Bernhard Wiesinger auf seinem Debutalbum „Notice That Moment“ mit seiner  rasanten musikalischen Entwicklung und greifbaren stilistischen Aussage am Tenor und Sopran-Saxophon. Klare melodische Strukturen in seiner Spielweise und eine wunderbare Balance im Sound zeugen von Bernhards musikalischer Reife und geben ihm auch seinen Wiedererkennungswert. Die musikalische Kommunikation mit Kevin Hays am Klavier und Fender Rhodes, Scott Colley am Kontrabass und Bill Stewart am Schlagzeug ist meisterhaft und weist ein Statement mit hoher Musikalität auf, welches eine internationale Beachtung auf höchster Ebene verdient. Die Interpretationen als auch die Auswahl der Stücke, welche bearbeitete Standards und mehrere eigene Kompositionen von Bernhard Wiesinger beinhalten, haben Originalität, Seele und Drive.  THX Bernie for your feelings and great sound!

At a time when jazz is exploring its versatile range in a jungle of stylistic directions, saxophonist Bernhard Wiesinger — my colleague and buddy — has greatly impressed me with his debut album Notice That Moment. His precipitous musical development has yielded clear stylistic statement and melodic structure. Bernhard´s technique on the tenor and soprano saxphone and wonderful balance of sound attest his musical maturity and distinctive identity. His musical communication with pianist Kevin Hays, bassist Scott Colley and drummer Bill Stewart is masterful, demonstrating the accomplishment of great musicality, which merits widespread international recognition and acclaim. His interpretation and choice of songs — which include arranged standards and original Wiesinger compositions — have authenticity, soul and drive.
